Core Aeration

Homeowners often overlook the problems associated with soil compaction.  This spring, core aeration will loosen your lawn’s compacted soil and increase its overall, long-term health.  When the top portion of your lawn becomes compressed, it hinders the movement of water, air, and nutrients to the grass roots, leading to stress, less ability to compete with weeds, and deep layers of thatch.  Experts agree that having your lawn aerated is the single most important thing that you can do to increase your lawns drought tolerance, stimulate root growth, and improve the overall health of your lawn.

 

Year-Round Lawn Treatment 

For the most beautiful lawn, DeJong Lawn & Landscape offers a year-round course of treatments at a price much more affordable than most people realize. In early spring, we apply either a liquid or granular fertilizer along with a pre-emergent herbicide to prevent crabgrass and foxtail before germination.

We return in late spring to apply a liquid fertlizer along with an herbicide for broadleaf control. Broadleaf weeds include: black medic, buckhorn, burdock, clover, dandelions, ground ivy (commonly known as Creeping Charlie), nut sedge, pigweed, plantation, poison ivy, purslane, sandbur, and spurge.

Mid-summer, we apply liquid iron and Mach 2 insecticide to control grubworms. DeJong Lawn & Landscape also has flea control options available to keep your lawn safe for both pets and people.

Early fall brings another application of liquid fertilizer and herbicide for broadleaf control, then in late fall, we apply a slow-release granular fertilizer to nourish your lawn throughut the winter.
